Trump’s inaugural Speech

In his inaugural address on January 20, 2025, President Donald Trump outlined several new policies, notably announcing the revocation of the electric vehicle (EV) mandate. He stated, “With my actions today, we will end the Green New Deal and we will revoke the electric vehicle mandate, saving our auto industry and keeping my sacred pledge to my great American auto workers.”

This policy shift could have significant implications for Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, a leading EV manufacturer. Despite the potential challenges, Musk’s prominent presence during the inauguration ceremonies, including his enthusiastic response to Trump’s commitment to space exploration, suggests a strong alliance between the two. Musk has been appointed to lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency, indicating his influential role in the new administration.

While the revocation of the EV mandate may impact Tesla’s domestic market, Musk’s close relationship with President Trump and his leadership role in the administration could provide avenues to navigate these challenges. Additionally, Musk’s ventures, such as SpaceX, stand to benefit from the administration’s focus on space exploration.
