Ola Johnson has been a photographer and print designer since 1983. He operated InstantPortraits Studios in London, Luton, Abuja and Lagos for over three decades until retirement in 2013.
As a pioneer in the commercial use of digital equipment, his niche was to produce full colour photo business cards, stationery and wedding souvenirs instantly at exhibition stands in various shopping malls across the UK.
A certified Microsoft and Novell Networks Engineer in 1998, he has helped design frameworks and set up quite a number of office network systems, as well as his own laptop-based cybercafes.
Over the years, he mentored a few protégés in the art and business of desktop publishing, most of whom went on to open their own print studios and photo labs.
His move to Abuja in 2004 saw him working with top officials in government including sitting and former presidents, governors, ministers and National Assembly members and their families.
His other ventures included web design, covering social events, weddings, VIP meetings and conferences, and [Nollywood] movie premieres with photographs, billboard banners and video.
In retirement, he continues to teach the art and business of digital tech, especially the use of Ai tools in the design of 3D floorplans for interiors and exteriors.
